- Many people have stopped using texts as smart phones are now doing many apps where 'texting' becomes free which is almost like instant messaging services. For example, apps such as Whatsapp and Viber has become a lot more popular since the number of users on smartphones have increased. Therefore many people have switched to using free messaging apps which means less people are paying for texts.
